The Community Soccer Initiative is an extracurricular soccer league in which teams are ranked by their successes both on and off the field. In addition to wins and losses, the league standings consider the total “points” earned by individuals of each team. These can be earned in three ways.

Earned by being in school each day. If a team member isn’t there, his or her teammates are motivated to encourage him to attend.

Earned by helping run the league, by attending various workshops or awareness seminars hosted by CHF, or by setting an example of compassionate citizenship. The individual boy and girl with the highest number of leadership points will receive a scholarship at the end of the school year.

Earned by participating in community service events such as clean ups or by volunteering with a partner NGO operating in Ghana.
